Why we build

Good tools should feel quieter than the problem.

Many everyday software tasks have become crowded with accounts, subscriptions, uploads, dashboards, and settings nobody asked for. Toolshelf takes the opposite approach: understand the job, make the common path obvious, and keep the person using the software in control.

We are especially interested in tools that can run locally. When a file does not need to leave your computer, it should not.

Our first Mac release

CleanCut started with one awkward video problem.

People often need a shareable copy of a video with language muted, useful subtitles, or a format that will actually play on the destination device. The traditional answer is a full video editor or an online upload service.

CleanCut brings those three jobs together in one focused Mac app. The AI transcription and video processing happen on the computer, and the original file stays under the customer's control.

PolishKey brings that local-first idea to everyday writing.

Short support replies, emails, and notes often need a quick second pass. PolishKey is designed to rewrite selected text from a hotkey using a local model instead of a cloud writing service.

Like every Toolshelf app, PolishKey gets its own product IDs, license benefit, release assets, and support notes.
